Graying duo keep passenger in check

I liked how his wife handled the situation...

Hayden's wife of 42 years, Katie, who was also on the flight, was less impressed. Even as her husband struggled with the agitated passenger, she barely looked up from "The Richest Man in Babylon," the book she was reading.

"The woman sitting in front of us was very upset and asked me how I could just sit there reading," Katie Hayden said. "Bob's been shot at. He's been stabbed. He's taken knives away. He knows how to handle those situations. I figured he would go up there and step on somebody's neck, and that would be the end of it. I knew how that situation would end. I didn't know how the book would end."

It's too bad none of the younger guys wanted to get involved, but I guess the two 'greys' were better trained and better able to handle the situation.

:icon_lol: I know how she feels. My "old grey" did six years in the Marines in the Vietnam era. He's been everywhere from Norway (was on the Inchon and had an interesting run-in with a Russian destroyer there once) to Okinawa, the Phillipines, and all points in between. Seargent Garrett was even a crew chief on Marine One. Not only do I feel safe anywhere I'm near him despite his service-connected disabilities (mostly back problems stemming from a broken neck), but I sure do sleep good at night. :proud:
