Well, due to the sudden loss of our 3 and a half year old Shubunkin, Nuke, I decided to restock our 36 gallon aquarium.

The aquarium is as follows:

Aqueon 36 gallon bowfront
Aqueon HOB 20 and 30 and a Hagen Elite powerhead used to diffuse our diy co2 (2 bottle system)

Substrate is a mix of regular aquarium gravel and EcoComplete

The tank has been up and running for almost 4 years so to avoid any loss in biological filtration I started stocking the day after we burried Nuke.

The current stocking:

Fauna:
15 Neon tetras (juvies ~1/2")
3 German Blue Rams (what I believe is 2 females and 1 male)
5 Otocinclus Affinis

Flora:
Rotala Rotundifolia
Bacopa Caroliniana
Bolbitis heteroclita

Here is a picture, let me know what you think :proud:

I had a piece of light blue poster board in behind but we didn't like the look of the piece. It might look better if the piece were black though.

The rotundifolia fill in the back really thick, I just did a major trimming to get the plants growing in thicker in the back and that is why its so open.

But I definitely see what you mean about the background. We'll see how it looks once the plants fill back in, which, by the way they are growing, will be quick.
