Hi folks,

I have a 10G tank that I plan to convert into a lower light, low tech tank. It currently has an 18" 15W T8 bulb, which is an Aqueon 8,000K 'Full Daylight'. It gives off a pink hue and looks terrible. The hood is Aqueon's standard 10G hood.

I'd like to replace the bulb without retrofitting the ballast, replacing the hood, etc. Any suggestions on a good replacement bulb?

yes look for a daylight bulb in the 5100-6700k range and that will be more beneficial to your plants.

Bulbs like the one you currently have work better in combination with a daylight/white bulb.
