"repairing" driftwood show piece?

927 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  prighello
I have a piece of driftwood that I purchased online and was damaged during shipping.

What can I use to reattach it that is aquarium safe but not very noticeable?

Will silicone adhere to wood?

superglue gel would work perfectly. You can add baking soda to plasticize it and make it even more permanent.

Can you elaborate on this?
Epoxy would probably be my choice, it's inert, bonds well to most things, and is fairly easy to work with.

Might also be able to use the expanding gorilla glue, but that would be messier and harder to work with.

What sort of damage is it, posting a pic might help with the advice.

As for making something look weathered/less human-altered, burning with a torch and scrubbing the char off works pretty well. Great for cut ends and such.
