I don't have any shrimp ready for a competition, but I did read the rules on your link and not sure if anyone would send in high grade shrimps without being able to set up the tank and adjust the water. I'd love to go to a competition like that just to watch and participate in the auction afterward ;-)
People in countries other than the US do it all the time. Germany, and Taiwan, etc have huge bragging recognition for breeders winning and can demand a higher price for their shrimp, as well as more customers wanting the best quality.
I'm really bummed that America doesn't have National competitions like this because it would really encourage people to improve their shrimp for coloration as well as pattern.
Seems that too often people are more interested in pattern here and so coloration isn't as important.
