Hi, my 55 gallon tanks has three rather large Amazon Swords that's taking way too much space. I'm planning on pulling one of them out and donate to my other tank. This plant was a daughter plant from another Sword in my tank, it's taken roots and reached the top(18 inches tall) in just six month. I'm concern about all the debris that's going to cloud the water when I pull it out. Last time I did some redecorating and old dirt from the substrate killed one of my tetra, and now I have discus in there and I'm worried that they'll get affected too.

Any suggestions please?

You can pull the plant during a water change. Set a siphon near the base of the plant. Pull slowly and suck up and dirty water before it spreads.
