I have a red melon sword in the background of my 90g. 3 t5h0 bubls 1 inch from the top of the tank. EI ferts. I have had it for several months and it hasn't gotten too tall. Will this plant get tall enough to be a true background plant?
red mellon grow out not up. red rubin will get tall. i had one as tall as my 55 i had to get rid of over the summer.my red mellon is easy 15 inches wide it is pushing up on the glass in both front and back of my 55. i wish i had a bigger tank to put it in lol. i will get pics later if you want
I used to have a large red melon sword in my 55g.Sold
It grew to 15-16 inches "tall" and 10 inches wide.
Sword plants are "root "feeders.
Root tabs will help it grow better and taller.
thanks guys. I do root tabs too. I will definitely give it more time. I hope it doesn't get too wide! I really didn't leave a lot of room on the sides for it to grow wide
