I've owned this RMS for at least ten years. A few days ago I noticed what appears to be a runner. Is it? The only thing is that it looks like a totally different plant without roots. It's also trying its damndest to grow out my tank. Below is a pic
In the plant world in general, it's not that unusual for first leaves to be a bit different from mature leaves, IME. I would be curious to see how the leaves change as the stalk progresses though!
Congrats! You may soon have flowers. The flowers aren't self-pollinating, but they will most likely form plantlets which you can eventually plant in substrate and grow them out.
