When picking red cherry shrimp to buy, is color the ultimate sign of a good shrimp to buy? What's the best indicators? I'm planning to buy some online, but I notice that some sellers have more intensely red RCS than others. I know females are usually more red and that food can also play a role in color.

The sign of a good shrimp to buy is the one that looks best to you, plain and simple. If you prefer the more intensely colored shrimp, look for someone selling fire reds and go for it. If you prefer shrimp with clear and red striping, just buy regular old cherries. Neither is particularly better or worse, just different coloration.

I believe he/she is asking what to look for to make sure they are healthy? If so, then if they are adults they should be decently red. Most normal cherrys will have blotches of red or spots of red. Usually only fire reds are full red.

A healthy shrimp is an active shrimp.
