I recently picked up a 2.5 gallon tank to house a stressed out Betta that was living in the big community tank. He has become active again, his popeye is receding, and I will be adding medication tomorrow to speed his recovery.
The plan now is to permanently house him in that tank. Its not cycled but I'll be doing 50% wc every two days for the next few weeks. I need a filter but I want to go open top so a sponge filter isn't going to cut it and the noise air pumps make drives me up the wall. I've seen these micro HOBs before and they're exceedingly affordable but I'm new to the world of nano tanks so I need some input.
I was thinking about one of these. They're only 16gph with adjustable flow so it should be nice and gentle current for the Betta.
