I want do a low tech tank with my 50 gallon. I am aiming for low ish light plants. Mainly a mix of swords, anubias, and java fern. What would you guys recommend for lighting?

I would go with the coralife T5s, thats what i bought for my 55 gallon soon to be set up low tech tank. These lights look great and sleek, as well they come with great bulbs (2x 28 watt T5s 6500 k i do believe) and are very affordable!

A T5NO double bulb fixture is what you want, just as Bree stated. I have 10000k bulbs which I really like, but in my opinion, anything from 6500 - 10000 will look nice.

Im running two of the double bulb T5NO Coralife fixtures on my 50 breeder. So far so good. No CO2 and no real algae. Ive got about 20 sword plants in mine.

Thanks for the input. I have actually have two coralife NOT5 double bulbs fixtures that I am not using. They are both four feet in length. Is ok to use these and just let the extra lentgh hang off the tank?
