That's pretty much the only one you can use, I think. I mean, there are other kelvin ratings you could use that wouldn't be as yellow-tinged as that 5100k, but I don't think you can really put a higher wattage bulb in that stock fixture.

Walmart sells bulbs that are exactly the same as that one, but in the preferred 6500k rating. Maybe you could use one of those?

Otherwise, I recommend retrofitting something else in that hood.

I found a 6500K bulb at Lowe's that will fit, but it's 7 watts to the original's 10 watts. Is going from 5100K to 6500K a good trade-off for losing those 3 watts? I don't have lumen info for the 10-watt bulb, so I can't compare that way.

No, I think it's better to stick with the original bulb. You didn't find the ones in the pet section at walmart I was talking about?

I found ones that were somewhat similar to the kit bulb, but they were too long to fit. They also didn't have a Kelvin rating.
