I really want to add some RCS to my tank, but I was curious how you guys keep these small shrimp without having the fish eat them.

Simple. We have shrimp only tanks. :)
+1 ^. shrimp only unless you like watching your fish poop red goo :)
Very small fish like chili rasboras are safe with adult cherries, but everything other than otocinclus will eat the babies.
I keep chili's with my RCS, and althought it happens slowly, the shrimp population does grow. It's an evolve 8 with a ton of java moss, so lots of hiding space.
I have harlequin rasboras, 20 guppies, over 100 cherry shrimp with lots of babies in a 17g, and I don't see the fish eating them. I'm really hoping that they do, to cut down the population. Every time I take a close look I see new babies, but then again, there are lots of females and new babies that the fish could possibly eat.
I have pond and a few Malaysian trumpet snails in my soon-to-be shrimp tanks (waiting for AC season to start here so I can keep temp consistent.. till then they are in a holding tank in the basement) that rode in on plants or are there to stir the Black Diamond substrate. Everyone seems to say "the only fish safe with shrimp is otos".

If you have enough shrimps, the fish can't eat all the babies. The guppies constantly looking for food but I don't see them bothering the babies, and as long as you start with good shrimp population especially with cherries, you'll never run out of shrimplets.

Thanks everyone for the replies! I have a 90 gallon heavily planted. How many do you think I should start out with?

I started with 25 cherries in my 17g, with your tank maybe 50 is a good number, cherries multiply so fast.
