ray 2 36" DS or 2 18" DD for 40 breeder

Trying to decide to use ray 2 36" DS lengthwise or 2 18" DD back to front on 40 breeder. Any thoughts?

Never thought to use the light front to back. Seems like you would get more coverage, but the 36" puts out more par. So if you put the two 18" together does it equal the 36" par?
