That is correct. We call them mini-ramshorns. They will mostly die off if you have other snails that can it compete them, such as pond snails. I do like that they eat hair algae 
Yes, but keep in mind how shall that are. They don't make quick work of it, but I have had them sit and visibly munch on hair algae. Some other members here have said they ate holes into their plants, but I've never had that. Different species? Dunno.They eat hair algae ???

That's my belief is that holes in leaves created by these small snails are due to the plant being unhealthy to the point that the leaf was soft enough or dieing already.I can't say I've seen them do it but I have some of these, as well some pond snails and some pink ramshorns (theyre all pretty small 1 pink is about pea sized now) but I have noticed some small holes here and there but in not so healthy or dying /eaves it seems like.
