Ramshorn snails or pest snails?

3496 6
Started a new tank last week, I bought some new plants and moved some plants from another tank (which has ramshorn snails). Can anyone tell if these snails are pest snails or ramshorn snails, I've heard something about them being pest snails if they're leaning?:|

I have some of these came in with some plants I had gotten. These, from my understanding, don't get much bigger than what yours look to be. I believe their technical name is planorbis arnoldi.

Ramshorns most people are familiar with have the shells going straight up and down. These ramshorns you have though, are like most snails and help eat algae and dead plants/fish and leftover food. So they're beneficial to help with tank maintenance. Don't overfeed, and keep your tank clean and their population won't spin out of control.

Yes, but keep in mind how shall that are. They don't make quick work of it, but I have had them sit and visibly munch on hair algae. Some other members here have said they ate holes into their plants, but I've never had that. Different species? Dunno.
I can't say I've seen them do it but I have some of these, as well some pond snails and some pink ramshorns (theyre all pretty small 1 pink is about pea sized now) but I have noticed some small holes here and there but in not so healthy or dying /eaves it seems like.

That's my belief is that holes in leaves created by these small snails are due to the plant being unhealthy to the point that the leaf was soft enough or dieing already.
