Hi all,

What mount assembly can I use to make raising and lowering my light fixture easily? I want to even possible do this electronically.

Thanks.

Thanks,

However, all those are static mounts. I need something like a curtain assembly, so I could adjust the height easily.
Yeah! this is what I'm looking for.. Thanks!.
Now I wonder if I can hook it to a motor and control this thing electronically :).
a single pulley with the cord tied off would allow adjustment up and down within a few seconds, probably much easier than anything electronic. and once adjusted to the correct height, you would not want the light to move (down) after that, tying off the cord would prevent any movement.

other than hanging by cord, adjustable mounting arms could be created also to support from underneath.

best of luck with this project!
Hehe, I was thinking of raising/lowering the light to effectively lower the wpg. If I can do this electronically, I could have a programmed sequence to raise the light in the morning, lowering it in the afternoon and raise it again in the evening. I was thinking somewhere along using gear reduction worm gear, that would only turn one way. This way, the light is secure by the simple gear geometry setup. But yeah seem like too much effort.

Did you consider dimming the lights or turning some on/off during the cycle? Raising/lowering the lights is a novel idea and maybe one worth pursuing if you are a tinkerer. Maybe a big cog wheel connected to a timer with limit switches for different heights. Think airplane flaps.........DC
Airplane flaps...
That design works.

I was thinking that you could use a little bar that would hold it still, and a screw that goes into the stand and a motor turns it to raise it or lower it, like a screw driven garage door opener.
