Hey all, sorry if this question has been killed many times over, but I was wondering if you guys wait until the bubbles run out before preparing the solution, or get one ready at certain intervals (ie 2 weeks). My pH goes from 7.4 to about 6.8 with injection, so I was a little concerned about the sudden pH swing upwards when the injection stops, and the sudden swing downwards after the new solution kicks in. Thanks

Thanks for the responses guys. My normal tap water kH is about 4.0, so I add a smidge of baking soda to get it to like 4.5 or 5. I think I read somewhere that the bubbles will die off very quickly, so I thought that may send a big jolt into the system, followed by another when the next solution kicks in, but I guess not. The problem I have now is I'm still on my first batch, so I have no clue how long it will last, since i have a pretty cold house, so I had to use almost 2 teaspoons of yeast to get thing's going. I'm not sure how it all will balance out, so it could be another 3 weeks or it could be another 3 days, lol.

I was more concerned about the pH when the bottle runs out, and when the CO2 kicks in after I put in a new solution. I'm currently adding 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, as recommended. The rig is just a soda bottle with an airstone that feeds into the intake of my HOB. I added 2 cups sugar, 2 teaspoons of yeast, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda and filled to 2 inches from the top with distilled water.
