Hi guys

My friends red cherry shrimp tank just sprung a leak and he doesnt have an extra tank to put them in at the moment. I told him i would set up a small tank for him so his shrimp dont die. Whats the fastest way to set this tank up so that his shrimp wont die?

I poured some filter mulm into the new tank, and put some stability in the tank as well. Its only a 1.5 gallon tank but he only has about 10 shrimp or so left.

When is the soonest that you guys would recommend putting the shrimp in?

Put them in a tank with gravel or barebottom, they'll be fine with a sponge filter or the filter from his leaky tank

his filter dried out, thats why i just threw the mulm from one of my tanks in there. Should that be sufficient?

10 shrimp aren't going to produce much waste. Bung some easy/floating plants in and keep the feeding to a minimum and they should be fine.

Shrimps themselves have very low bioloads so you should be fine wih mulm. Try to salvage plants as stated above or decorations. Even substrate will contain helpful bacteria
