i just set up a 14 gal with the incandescent lighting everything is stock besides the filter which is for a 20-30 gallon its the aqueon.
i also put the Flora max caribean sea in, i can add active flora instant cycling if i have to.

so will RCS do fine, will plants grow good?
should i use carbon filters? (ive heard you dont want to take the ammonia nitrates and nitrites out in a planted tank)
and finally how well do CO2 tablets work?

RCS will be fine, but you may be limited to low light plants using the stock lighting.

A simple sponge filter will work in the place of carbon, although I've never seen much difference when using carbon.

I've never used CO2 tablets, but setting up a DIY CO2 system will probably be cheaper and more effective.
sweet thank you very much! i may go get some cheap walmart plant growing aquarium bulbs.
