So I have a new 10 gallon, and I'm wondering if glosso or any other carpet plants can grow and florush in it. Here are some of the specs:
Lighting: Flora-Glo 15 Watt T8 Bulb 2,800k 420 Lumen
Substrate: Flourite with some sand
No CO2 or dosing, sorta low tech

So I got some Java Fern, crypts, etc. I'm wondering if Glosso or any other carpet plant can grow and prosper in there.

In my 20G I dont inject CO2 or add excel and I have a carpet of HC in the process of growing. It began as one tiny cutting but has now spread over a 6"X8" area and seems to be doing great. Besides the older leaves getting some green spot algae on them I'm very happy with how its coming along.

Its a DIY hood with 3-15watt CFL's and 2-10watt CFL's:

I actually am very pleased with how CFL's perform, use them on all my tanks.

ooooo very nice!!! I guess one 15 watt wont work with HC or riccia then. I like your DIY setup, any tutorials on how to make that kind of hood?
