#1. Can you keep a specific species of caridina shrimp
with another one without them cross-breeding?
#2. Can you keep them with neo-caridina shrimp without
them cross-breeding?

Most caridina will cross with tigers, crystals, taiwan bees, being the main groups of those that people keep and they will readily breed, normally not looking anywhere near as nice as the parents.

Neo's won't cross breed with caridina's, but their params don't really overlap that much, so if you are keeping 1 kind or another, you are going to tailor the water to them and the others won't be as happy in it.

There are exceptions to the above but for the most part, neo's like higher ph, harder water. Caridina like soft, low ph water.

Caridina's are also harder to keep, more delicate and the neo's are usually considered the starter or beginner shrimp.

Tigers are a bit more tolerant and can do better in cherry conditions than say CRS or Taiwan Bee's.

tiger and neos tend to like close to the same water both will be happy in a ph of about 7 and breed

And if you decide not to go the "tiger" route, there are always Malawa shrimp or Caridina cf. babaulti spp. 'green' that will do with Cherry shrimp or any other neo.

Yea I'm getting some OEBTs, but
they sometimes don't breed true
right? I will still get blues though
right? I'll just cull the blondes?
