hey guys i need lighting for my new 30x30x30cm cube, but cant afford luminare ect
it is to be heavily planted, what please, are the lighting requirments for such a tank

also will reflector bulbs heat up my water too much? here is what i was thinking, i get 3, 40w spotlights from ikea to attach to the wall above my tank

please could i get some guidance on this

Spotlights? Halogen floodlamps? Bad idea. They produce more heat than they do light in terms of energy usage.

A 30x30x30 cube is ~100 gallons (depending on UK/US gallons), so it's gonna be a toughie to light. It's also deep. Are you planning on growing carpet plants? You might want to consider a MH pendant that's hung over the tank since it's deep. Even with 3-5" of substrate, that leaves you with a depth of 25-27".

Even with a 2x65w 30" Coralife Aqualight, it only puts you at about 1.3WPG.

What are your goals w/ the tank?

thanks for your answers, but please could you re-adjust them to fit my silly mistake

this is the bulb i had in mind: Reflector bulb E14 Max 25W
a couple of them above tank? what are your thoughts suggestions?
