Not familiar with those lights but if you are on a budget check out fishneedit.com I bought my 72" t5ho lights from them and have been very pleased. I believe he offers plant bulbs with them now.

Those lights are crap. Do a search for the Odyssea lights and you will find that LOTS of people have had massive issues with them.

Go to http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/ and order your lights. Best lights for the money and they will put whatever bulbs you want in them. The people that I know that have bought lights from them have had nothing but great things to say about them. Their customer service is second to none if you ask anyone who has had to contact them.

Spending more at the start will save you money in the long run.

Ditto on http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/
For the money, don't waste it on something you'll have to replace sooner or later.

Now, that said, a lot of manufactures got burned a few years back by bad capacitors. Electronic ballasts contain capacitors. I've started opening up the bad ballasts I've seen lately and all have had bad caps and all date from about five years back when the problem surfaced in a big way in computers.
