I am going to have either a 20L or 40B Q-Tank setup, just wondering what I can do on the cheap for lights, but will keep plants alive?

I need it to hang down from wood shelf that about 5 feet above the tank. Mostly need it so I can see in the tank and to keep hornwort and some other low light plants alive.

What type of fixture and lights? I wanted to get something cheap from Lowes.

Get a couple cheap work light domes and use screw-in daylight CFLs.

You can remove the clamps and use the fixtures as pendants hanging from the shelf above. Cheap, flexible, easy to use. Come in several sizes, too.

If you get tired of the shiny metal look, you can easily spray paint the exterior.
Cool, I have seen those lights before. Suggestions as to what watt bulb? Should I get the max the lights will hold?

Thanks
