Putting Together Another Shrimp DB - Need Some Help :)

4321 Views 42 Replies 12 Participants Last post by  deleted_user_17
I decided to write a blog on my shrimp tanks, then decided to add a shrimp page, then that shrimp page turned into a shrimp DB. But I don't have all the shrimp so I don't have all the pics, this is where your help would be greatly appreciated.

This is what a sample entry looks like. (Under Construction, don't look at other parts!)

Shrimp Pics (SIDE PROFILE) Needed:

Caridinas Cantonensis
- Tibees (should we even go there yet?)

Caridina Babaulti
- Blue
- Brown
- Malaya

Sulawesi Caridinas
- Red Orchid
- Need a better Malawa pic
- Anything I don't have here

If you have a better shot of an image we already have, feel free. My old photos aren't the best, and many can be used as fillers for How-To Guides and random articles :)

This is a weekend project so updates may be slow, but forthcoming!

Nice start. The top title of your DB says "Shrim" was it supposed to say shrimp? I will leave the contributions to the DB to others since I just recently branched out from Neos to OEBT and think others will have better pictures and info. Look forward to checking out your completed DB, I have it bookmarked.
Lol typos abound I'm sure, where's it say Shrim?
i think speedie will have those pics that you mentioned
It's always nice to have your own page, but there's already many folks out there who have compiled most of this info together already. Here's a site I have been referred to by friends and I also like to refer other folks to as well: http://www.shrimpkeeping.com/

I have most of those shrimp pics, but not all yet :icon_wink. If the op want's to use some of my pics, I'm sure we can work something out. :proud:

I like it. Here are some of mine. I have more on my PC, once I stop being lazy and get off my iPad :proud:

I know you already have some PFR shots but I just love those photos.

I know there's a couple sites up, I just want to organize it a little differently, and it's a fun weekend project. Simple, scalable, can do user submissions later on.

Kiran, I think your PFR is definitely more "painted"! Great S+ "V" too. TY Sir.

I've got some for you:
Regular OEBT:

Blonde OEBT:

Sorry, my pictures aren't the best quality because all I have is an iPhone.

No problem. Oh and you can credit them to Kiran Ravindra :proud:

TY :)

I finally finished the CRS page, I removed the "S+" grade because it seemed redundant, which really just referred to 2 patterns. Lol see if you can tell which I got lazy asking pics for and photoshopped the patterns.

@Kiran I'm using your shot ;)

Better than mine old one! Though I may have overcontrasted it... I'll find a use for those PFRs too, look too good not to show off!

@Overgrowth

Thanks for the BTOE, will use it, confused about the blonde? are those just regular-looking tigers with an orange eye?

Yes, the orange eyed blonde tigers have orange eyes instead of black ones, and the yellow is more apparent than normal tigers.
I'm going to say Fertility is Low for OEBTs. Since the difficulty + blonde offsprings. Thanks.
Cool thanks Banana, haven't gotten to that genus yet.

The more shrimp I put up, the more I find out about. Next in the pipeline, an infograph on shrimp genetic links/history, maybe...
You aren't demanding for stickies, then begging everyone to write them. Good on you!

I can share some photos for your site once my tanks are cleaned up.
Demand for stickies? Begging for writeups? Should have thought of this earlier, but a Wiki might have been an easier solution.

Ohwell, too much of a control freak for that. A lot of this is for my benefit so I can keep track of what I have, and what I need to acquire years from now. One day I'll start a public shrimp-quarium...

Not the best organization but I'm doing (1) alphabetical; (2) species (can't do this for Sulawesi tho--just a category); (3) lastly a largely inaccurate but very plausible genetic link chart of select species, i.e. Orange Bee -> CRS -> Wine Red -> Ruby Red; CRS -> CBS -> Panda -> BKK.

Red tigers if you need them :D, but I didn't see them on your list....I just managed to snap a few with my phone while I was feeding them
