Purigen vs Seachem "The Bag"

I purchased a large container of Purigen and I have noticed that its way too small to fit in my standard nylon bag.

So I need some type of bag to put the purigen inside.

Is Seachem "The Bag" the same thing as Purigen(with bag) ?

1. Purigen - 100 mL | That Fish Place
2. Seachem The Bag - 180 Micron - 5 in. x 9 1/2 in.

Thanks.

it has a 180 micron mesh and comes with a convenient resealable locking closure. so this works with the bottle of purigen you just bought...the other one is a bag with purigen inside it but "can't" opened to put new purigen in...you can always use pantyhose instead for a cheaper price..also look at dr foster and smith have bags too for cheap..

Sorry that was supposed to say can't not can

So its the same size bag just resealable on the end? Do you have both bags?

Thanks.

No not the same size..the bag is much larger and it has a reclosable zip tie..I have one that's in my canister filter at the moment..the other one it's a sealed up bag with purigen sealed inside it and much smaller I was able to fit two of those in AC70 with a sponge and media..took off the AC and have two canister where I just put the two smaller bags in the new canister...as you said you bought a bottle of purigen since you did that just get "the bag" and it does great..when you need to recharge purigen you can leave in the bag with out the worry of it deteriorating either bag or reclosable zip tie from the bleach

"The bag" is just an empty bag with a reclosable zip tie..the other is a sealed bag with purigen that can not be opened to put in purigen in when you fully exhausted the media after so many recharges..go with "the bag"

Ok, that is what I needed to hear for me to pull the trigger and purchase " the bag"

I have had the purigen for a long time and have not been able to use it once since I did not have a bag with the right size 180 micron openings.

Thanks for helping me out.
