Pump size

My tank is 220 with 2 overflows. I moved the intake nozzles closer to the bottom, but doesn't seem to keep the sand cleaned. My pump is a 1200 GPH mag drive split to both overflows. Is that big enough for the tank?

If you're looking to keep stuff from building up on your sand you might want a powerhead, like a koralia or something prop driven just to give a lower level flow in the tank. Obviously don't aim it at the sand or it will stir up, just a little parallel flow over the sand will assist in debris getting to the over flow.

Oh well, that figures. We sold all the powerheads when we sold all the saltwater stuff that was in this tank before we went to a planted tank.
