They are very active. Very active. I had a few in my 40g long and they chased eash other non stop all day......
So you're definitely recommending the gertrudae. Any tips on their diet? The Furcatas and Signifers always seemed to do better in less densely planted tanks for us, whereas Gertrudaes and Paskais did far better in densely planted tanks. Otherwise I usually try and shoot for 3/5 on ratio, but they are all good with something close to that. The Signifers and Furcatas were always jumpers and we ended up with solid glass lids, the others were always in open top tanks and never a jumper
My boesemani have tried to steal pellets from my cory cats at times and had trouble. I now make an effort to feed the pellets only when the lights are out, so the cats get them but the rainbows don't. Definitely good advice.I've managed to breed gertrudae several times. Microworms and crushed flakes work great. Anything small and soft. Avoid pellets. I've seen them choke on crushed pellets. Not cool![]()
