Problem with Plants dying

359 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  nocrapman
I currently have a 45gal high tank with Eco Complete substrate and the AHsupply 2x 55watt lights. No CO2. I run the lights for 8 hours a day. I dose with Flourish 2x a week.

For the life of me, I can't get anything to grow except Ludwiga and some swords I have. I want a little variety, but I can't seem to figure out why nothing else will grow.

Any thoughts or ideas of what kind of plants I should get?

well your next option would be to add some ferts. Are you just dosing flourish then and not excel. If so get some flourish excel to get some co2 inside unless you want to go pressurized (IMHO its the best since i finaly gave in and got it) also you need to get some macros and micros in it. Look over EI dosing methods from dry ferts or there are some vendors here that are selling liquid ferts already mixed.
Light is aplenty! CO2 seems to be the limiting factor in ur tank.
Is there a lot of water movement/surface agitation (driving the CO2 away)?

I second the flourish excel.
Have you tried Vallisenaria and Saggitaria sp. Both are robust growers, and in a tall aquarium, potray a very dreamy look.
