Hi. i am new with planted tanks. I setup a planted tank 2 months ago. My cryptocoryne wendtii seems OK, but I got problems with ludwigia repens. I have 16 w fluorescent and 20 w halogen lightning in my 45 liters tank. Lightning seems OK. I use Seachem Flourish 2 times a week and I got DIY CO2 system, but I don't use anything else. What is missing or wrong ? Pictures of my ludwigia repens:

Please help guys...

Sorry for that. You can see now.
You probably need other nutrients too like potassium, and phosphate.. However, I have trouble growing this plant too, not sure why.
Everthing started when I have cut some leaves and planted them. Can an overdose of Seachem Flourish cause this, because I used it tree times last week ?

+1 on nutrients, specifically Phosphorus.

Phosphorus (P)

  • Symptoms: Small leaves that may take on a reddish-purple tint. Leaf tips can look burnt and older leaves become almost black. Reduced flowers or seed production.

So it is not related with an overdose of Seachem Flourish, right ?

no, overdosing wouldn't cause deficiencies in plants.
Allright. I will start using Seachem potassium. Thanks.
Do you have an substrate fertz? I am able to grow ludwigia repens like mad when I use the Rootmedic line. The iron caps really bring the reds out. I've got some in my tank now that are almost metallic red on the leaf underside.

Here's my last harvest grown with Rootmedic substrate caps, liquid ferts, and glut.

No, I just used Flourish and my sand is Hagen Black Quartz Sand.
Mine grows like crazy in MTS and I also use one osmocote pellet per plant and a dash of potassium nitrate every couple weeks. Mine is orange on the top side of the leaves near the surface, bright red and pink underneath, and the tops are green closer to the bottom. I don't use CO2 or Excel and lighting is 2 15 W cfls.
