Hey all,
Tank Info:
70 L (approx 20gal)
20 PRL shrimp (no deaths since put in the tank)
Lighting period 8 hours
heavily planted
Substrate ADA Amazonia Light
Filtration is a canister and two sponge filters
RO water remineralised with salty shrimp Gh+
Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite - tested and all good
GH - 7
KH - 0
PH - 6.4
TDS - 150
Writing this regarding my PRL shrimp. Recently purchase the API GH & KH test kit and did a test on my PRL tank. The results came back GH 7 and KH 1 (0). My GH result was alarming to me due to me talking to other PRL breeders and they all have their GH around 3-5. However, I searched it up and came across this website that says that bee shrimp need a GH over 5 to have sufficient minerals in the water for successful molting.
Website is SHIRAKURA - Information on successfully keeping and breeding bee shrimp
Just wondering if my GH is ok for my PRL shrimp and that it will not affect the breeding rate
cheers
