I was talking to someone the other day about Amano's monster tank -- you know, the huge one that has the plants and wood growing up out of the top. Anyway, I was told that he actually injects pressurized O2 (as well as Co2) to keep oxygen levels up and to more quickly build and maintain the nitrogen-feeding bacteria. Has anyone heard of this or use this method in your tank? I'm just interested in learning more, as one would assume a large bacteria colony isn't exactly needed in a heavily planted tank. Is there something else here that I'm not seeing?
