I have two Otocinclus and the pictures below are both of the same one. I was wondering if she/he is just plump and happy or if it could possibly be pregnant (that would be cool!). I do not have any noticeable amounts of algae in my tank, but their bellies continue to stay rounded and they poop almost constantly. Just last night I tried some blanched veggies and I'm going to keep doing that for a while, but these pictures are from before that.

Thanks in advance!

Enlarged bellies is typical of Otos that are eating good. Otos are fairly difficult to breed in a home aquarium. Especially if you didn't setup a tank for them to breed. In a nutshell, its impossible for your oto to be pregnant first hand, its not a live bearer. I doubt if its even carrying eggs. Its just eating good.

Thank you! :) I thought that if it was pregnant, I would want to keep an eye out for eggs and remove them from the tank but since it isn't, I'll just use it as an indicator to make sure they are getting enough to eat.
