Hi all I brought 2 amano shrimp today (called them huelio and jauque:smile but I realised huelio was pregnant when I put him (well I guess her) in my tank.I have a small cold water tank running but in a few days I'm going to relocate the residents of the tank.So can I put the mother in there? (it is a 7 gallon tank with a small filter,artificial plants with no lighting)

amano's need brackish water to reproduce properly. its not worth the time or money for a hobiest to breed amano's imo.

i would not doubt that! they would enjoy that!

Ive had amanos get berried before but thats as far as it got, without brackish water
the eggs wont make it.

My amanos are eternal berried. The females are always carrying eggs, but they always end up as a larva treat for the fish and other diners when the larva are released into the freshwater.

My fish go into a feeding frenzy whenever the female Amanos release their zoes.

Just as a heads up, they need full salt water for the larva to grow. Brackish just doesnt cut it!
