Noticed today that there is a ton of sediment in the Micros bottle. Is this normal?

Yep it will do that. Lots of folks suggest adding Excel to the bottle to keep gunk from growing, but I just keep mine in the refrigerator.

I've had mold grow on the top of the solution, excel helps that. But I usually shake it periodically and that cures it too.

I use 10ml of excel and just put,in the fridge it will still get some after awhile.

If you mixed the correct amount of dry ingredients to the appropriate amount of liquid, ie. water, there should be no sediment after a couple days.

If you reach the saturation point of a liquid, there can be no more that can go into solution. Did you use their calculator?

Did you just mix it? Heat some water in a pot, remove the pot from the flame and sit your container with ferts in the hot water for awhile. Works everytime.

They have been mixed for a couple weeks. At first there was nothing in the bottle but solution. I used the calculator from the GLA website. It must be something growing in it. It is not precipitate or saturation. Next batch I mix up I'll just try adding Excel and refrigerate them and see what that does.

Can the gunk in the bottle effect anything in the tank?

Ok, something growing in it is different from what I was referring to.

It sounds like you have bacteria building up inside your bottle.

I mix only what I will use in 30 days.

If it is a mold or fungus it wont hurting anything in your tank.
