Powerhead water circulation reversed? (Sucking instead of pushing)

I turned on the lights to my tank this morning and quickly noticed a big leaf stuck to the front of the powerhead. None of the plants in front of it were showing that there was any current in the water. I stuck my hand to remove the leaf and felt across the front that the powerhead had completely reversed and was sucking in water with all of it's might. I'm lucky that I didn't find fish against it. I unplugged it, but I'm stumped as to how this happened. And is there a way to fix this. I've only had this powerhead for about 6 months. Has anyone else had this happen before?

Thanks!

Some powerheads have a switch/lever on them to reverse the flow. May have gotten bumped by mistake? What make and model is it?
I'd be concerned that water got into the electrical system, causing a short that caused the poles to get reversed. I can't imagine any other reason. Unless yours has some sort of directional capability.
It's a Hydor Koralia Nano. No switch on it. I asked Dr. Google and he said that this happens a lot with this brand/model. I took it apart and couldn't find any cracks or defects on the impeller. I put it back in the water, plugged it in and now it's running in the right direction. Weird, right? I wished I knew that this was a common problem with this model or I wouldn't have purchased it. Super scary that it can just reverse and suck all of my fish in.

Here is your answer: Go to Utube and search BRSTV week 9, and jump to 7:50 minutes.

TLDW: It happens to a lot of AC pumps not just this one.

That IS weird. Yikes. I'd replace it and have a new Koralia paper weight
