Potassium Deficiency ?

I have quite a bit of H. Japan in my tank recently it and my hygro giant temple are developing small pinholes and small black dots. Is this a potassium deficiency. I am not injecting co2 i dose according to the Tom Barr method for non co2 tanks which excludes potassium is that what the problem is with these plants?
