I have Hygrophila pinnatifida in my 10g shrimp tank and it is showing signs of potassium deficiency. I do not dose at this time. I have Flourish Comp I could use but my understanding is it has no potassium to speak of. I have a large bag of potash that was given to me. I am migrating my 10g over to a 20H. When I do the substrate on my new tank I am going to sprinkle O+ on the bottom and cover with 1/2 or so of kitty litter or STS then a 1 1/2 inch layer of clay rich yard soil and cap that with bdbs. I was wondering if it would hurt to sprinkle some potash on the bottom with the O+ to deal with the potassium deficiency the Hygro is experiencing? If so should I grind the potash into a powder as right now it is small chunks? Thanks for the help.
