Some of us have voiced interest in a more accurate way to keep up with the myriad of native plants available to us as hobbyists. Do you need an ID on a local plant you want to try in you tank? This is the place to do it. If you have a tank with natives post it here! Tell us your experience with it. Provide as much accurate information as you can! When listing plant name please include Species name(at least the genus) and common name(s). When listing collection data be as accurate as you can. If you don't know or, aren't sure please leave it blank. For water parameters please include collection point(if you measure) and tank parameters(pH, GH, KH, TDS, air and, water temperature). For habitat please mention submersed/emersed(above/below water), full sun/shade, what type of habitat(lake, creek, river ditch etc). For ferts and lighting include photo period, lighting set-up, dosing schedule, CO2. Also, post questions/comments/suggestions for improving the thread! If you need, here are two sites that can help:

Collection data:

Species-Alisma subcordatum (American water plantain)
Watershed-Allegheny River
Location-Tidioute, PA
Season/month-Summer

Watershed-Allegheny River
Location-Tidioute, PA
Season/month-Spring

1st plant in post #3 looks more like Heteranthera dubia.
It's entirely possible as both are in the lake. As far as i can tell, not being an expert on plant id, one is more of an emergent plant and the other is submersed plant; with the only distinguishing differences being veiny leaves (which mine are, but faintly) and a rhizome (which I have seen no evidence of)

If you would like i can take some more pictures and I'll update the post accordingly
