I got a very nice piece of driftwood mounted on a rock from a friend. She had it her tank and had a big clado out break, so when I brought it home into a bleach dip twice for an hour each time. The thing is every time I time I let this thing soak in just plain water with prime the water gets a milky color to it and smell a little foul. it does seem to have a little bark left on it is really soft for some reason. I can leave marks in it with my finger nail. Now the other piece I got from her is bog wood and does not do that and is still kind of hard. I have no idea if I should put this in my tank or not????

Yeah I wouldn't put soft wood in the tank, it's likely to affect your water params.

Could be the bleach broke down the wood too much, if it wasn't already too far gone to begin with.
