Hi, I've had this algae appear on slow or non growing plants. Amazon frogbit is not affected. If anyone can name it I can do more research on it. Nitrates are minimal, photo period is 530 pm to 10pm. Water is RODI reconditioned and supplemented. Thanks! uploadfromtaptalk1396416859296.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1396416874459.jpg

Black Hair Algae (BHA).

Imbalance of carbon, low carbon levels.

CO2 injection and or Flourish EXCEL dosing will hold it back. There are a few critters that will eat it. Such as Siamese Algae Eaters (SAE). They will only help though not irradiate it. Most planted enthusiasts use at lest 1 of the above suggestions. I use all 3.
