Please help my shrimp!!!!

Ive had ALOT of shrimp dying on me and im starting to see a pattern i think. When i look at the carcass it seems as if the shrimp is moulting and dying while trying to do so. Theres a line in the body were i think the exoskeleton would break so the shrimp can escape but the crack is very small. Ive read were shrimp can die while moulting but always thought that was because they were seceptible(sp?) to fish and or predtors but the shrimp are alone in a 10 gallon. Any input would be great,and hopefully could be a lifesaver......litterally!
