Hello, I got some guppies about a week ago and they came down with a bad case of what I was told is ich. I got API ich cute treatment at the first sign of trouble, applied it, yet all guppies still died. I was fine waiting for

the ich to die off without a host but now this white webby stringlike stuff has started growing all over the tank, from the plants and rocks to the glass. If it from the ich? What is it and how can I rid my tank of it best? Thank you

Looks like you have a type of thread algae. It shouldn't be related to your recent dosing of Ich medication. Posting some water parameters will be helpful in diagnosing the algae problem. Also include volume/frequency of your water changes. I usually develop thread algae when something bottoms out, such as po4 or no3. As for the Ich, it can remain in the tank for a week or so without a host. If you decide to add more fish in the near future, I would first syphon your substrate and dose the medication as a preventative measure once the fish are added. Personally, I would be to go a couple weeks fallow (without fish) to reduce the likelihood of future infestations. Once treatment is completed, use some carbon or a series of water changes to remove the medicine.
