Gentlemen and ladies,

I am a total noob when it comes to adding ferts and things of this nature.
I do have lots of shrimp both cheap replaceable glass shrimp and not so replaceable amanos.
I do not want to kill them in this process.
I found this on Amazon. Is this a true safe alternative to buying those expensive yet safe seachem tabs?
I am not experienced enough to make an informed choice but I have to choose something fast as my plant propagating tank is struggling with plant tips yellowing. Please advise with your wisdom.

If those have osmocote+ in them, then it should be invert safe, I have 20 tabs in the sub of my 55g right now, and snails don't seem to be bothered by it.

Bury the capsules to the bottom of the tank so the water flow through the substrate will not release the fertilizer too fast, and just use a few the first time. Monitor the water. Sometimes you can find traces of ammonia from these, especially if you apply too many or do not bury them deeply.

You can make your own, too. Osmocote Plus is a garden product. The gel caps can be purchased on line, or in vitamin or health food stores. I believe the 00 (double zero) size is correct.

Given the cost of seachem tabs I think I will try this as it seems people know and use this type of fert. Thanks!

Just to double check before I risk it anyone else weighing in that this osmocote plus is invert safe I really like my shrimps would be broken hearted if I killed them.

I recall Teebo adding Osmocote+ and shrimps died. We have no idea if too much was used or if the Osmocote was exposed to too much water, causing it to leech out too fast (which can cause problems, so it's needed to bury it into the substrate so it doesn't get as much water contact so it leeches at a slower, safer rate, which the fertilizers would get used up at a steady rate so there are no dangerously high levels of anything).

Osmocote Plus 15-9-12 contains 0.05% copper.
It also has 7% Ammonia and 8% Nitrate

Do some searches ("osmocote invert/shrimp safe?"). Many people have used them with no issues to shrimp or fish. I've used them in tanks with Fish and snails with zero issues, but I've never used it in tanks with shrimp.

Im scared lol. Shrimp and nerite snails in the one tank.
Plants need it as substrate is gravel in one tank and sand in the other two but one tank is heavy on shrimp....
I'm putting one tab per groups of plants hopefully that is sufficiently light dosing.
Anyone else going to weigh in?

So the tabs have been added tried to keep it to about 5 key points getting tabs.
Tanks are 55g hope that isn't too much.
