Plants that Dwarf Gourami will not eat?

Recently bought two flame dwarf gourami and they're decimating my Ludwigia Repens and Heteranthera zosterifolia. Are there plants they wont touch?

First of all unless your tank is 20g+ and very densely planted (from bottom to surface) you'll likely loose a male-the dominant one will harass the other to death. Even in a 20g+ they may still fight. Keep a close eye on them and have a back up tank or be ready to return one.
As for plants I had good luck with anubias and swords (i had Argentinian sword) with my powder blue dwarf gourami. They're known to eat frogbit.. and nip soft leaf stemmed plants to make plan matter float to the surface to make their bubble nests from. You could just float some plants you don't care about (ludwigia, wisteria, rotala, etc) to let the gourami use and it should leave the others alone.

They seem to be getting on well, I had a male and female blue pair years ago and the male constantly attacked the female. I may try some frogbit.

my blue gourami eats the frogbit in his tank, and the shrimp :D

They likely haven't hit sexual maturity yet-most sold in stores haven't. Once they're libidos kicks in the instinct to defend a patch of sand for mating will be strong-even without girls (best to keep 2-3 females per a male or none at all) so things may get ugly later.

I have a 90 gallon planted tank with silver dollars ( huuuge plant eaters), a blue gourami, Bolivian rams and a few other fish.
I have found luck with Amazon swords, crypts, pennywort, cardinals and dwarf lilys.

Now I will find eaten pieces here and there. But they don't mow those plants down like they have done others. It's been a very expensive "experiment" to see what we could get away with. Lol.

I've recently started a small 5 gallon tank so I can do some more "delicate" plants and not have to worry about them getting eaten.
