LED lights so pretty bright. No java moss. something with hanging roots would be perfect.

Try Anubius.
Java Fern would also work quite well.
doesn't java fern get real big?
It won't grow as big as that Sword will....
Needle leaf java has become my new favorite non-substrate plant. The long whispy leaves add a great contrast to small leaved stems, or wider leaved rosette plants.
Something that not everyone uses on dw. Tank not mine.

IWANNAGOFAST managed to grow Staurogyne sp. 049 on driftwood. Here's his thread: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/t...manzanita-seiryu-stone-rescape-pics-12-a.html

Not unless its a pretty soft piece of wood. I like to tie it at the surface so it grows emergent and makes a little floating raft.
thanks guys! got to do some research on the plants named. like finding actual pictures lol
I vote for Anubias nana, A. nana "narrow leaf," and A. nana petite. If you haven't already done so, I recommend that you look at the beautiful photographs of A. nana "trees" posted recently on this forum.

Also, needle leaf Java fern and lace/Windelov Java fern should thrive and look very good on wood. I usually like to attach the plants initially using a tiny drop of "superglue" gel, rather than tying them to the wood.
I have seen dwarf hairgrass growing on driftwood around here in lakes. It roots really tight on the wood.
by matter of luck i actually got needle leaf java fern yesterday at my local store. might have to use super glue :) to get them stick.

now looking for gravel covering growers, since none of the local stores have any.

try growing java moss on driftwood, then grow UG on top of the moss (tie it down of course) the UG will start weaving through the moss, and eventually take over---leaving spectacular surprises especially if placed close to the surface:

HC, DHG and varieties, UG, HM, Glosso, Microsword, Marsilea and varieties; lots of option for you to choose from.
Get a huge bolbitis. they love being in the water flow. just tie it on to the dw and watch it wave. the anubias are nice bc they will root into and around the wood. i love ug and wish, wish i had that tank.

On the left either bolbitis or anubias frazeri, and fissadens on the one on the right
