Usually when I see blackwater setups it's only leaves and wood. Is there a reason there aren't any plants? I would like to do a blackwater but with plants.

My tank is like a black water tank, not intentionally I just have dirftwood that leaches tannins like a mofo.
Maybe it has to do with lighting? I have noticed that the light doesn't penetrate.

Oh so therefore it's difficult to grow plants I guess.
