i just dirted my tank two weeks ago but my plants are not doing to well i even dose my tank everyday with flourish excel:icon_sad:

I have several that have taken a month to really get going. Those would include micro sword, crypt, Anubis and java moss. Hornwort and ludwigia took off from day one.

what plants did you stock it with. it's better for dirt tanks to start off with a lot of stem plants.

It would help to give all the specifics like light and tank dimensions. My tank did worse with excel btw

what brand dirt did you use? the plants may need time to "bounce back" from the re-planting into the dirt
I've herd excell can "melt" some plants but I don't use so no personal experience

i have some api co2 booster stuff i could use and i have a twenty five gallon t5s and 24 inches long 12 wide

Stop with Co2 Booster
Start dosing actual fertilizer
Get some Flourish Comprehensive.

CO2 Booster/Excel isn't worthwhile.

I can literally guarantee that its not needed in your tank till its overgrown and filled with plants. There is more than enough CO2 in the tank.

I use Excel and was told Val can still grow with it. I have had a jungle Val in my tank since August and it hasn't done anything. It initially lost leaves and partially melted. So I wouldn't recommend Vals and Excel. I really wanted that tall grassy look that Vals give. I recently tried an onion bulb after googling for others experiences and that is doing very well so far, it grows about 1" a day!
