I'm not 100% sure what you're asking, but there's lots of information on this forum about fertilization. It really depends on how much lighting and CO2 you have, as well as what plants you're growing. Any brand will be safe for most fish as long as you don't overdose.
By definition, fertilizers are a type of chemical, and chemicals will alter the chemistry of the water.
However, many people like dosing bulk chemicals that can be purchased at hydroponic stores (also available at other sources). This is a much cheaper method than buying commercially available products (most often the Seachem line).
